Clinicals Have Started!

Sooooo how about the 1st day of school for me technically started this past Tuesday?! Although my first day of class was this past Wednesday, Tuesday we had day 1 of our clinical orientation! This was where we set up our passwords for Theranest, My Outcomes, and EMS. Can I tell you guys I have so many access codes and passwords to memorize that I just know the day of my first session which is actually next week, at least at one point in time, I am definitely bound to either set off the clinic alarm, forget to turn on the noise cancelling machines in the hall or even forget my passwords to all three accounts lmao. In addition to setting up passwords and learning new access codes, I made my first phone call with my co-therapist by my side to our client to set up our first intake session...which I am super excited as well as nervous about! We even received our phone extensions and got to set up our voicemails! So we all have our own extensions!

Moreover, this semester the two classes, well 3 rather counting my clinicals, that I am taking are my Theory 1 course, my clinicals where I see clients for a grade and systemic and mental health assessment course where I will learn all about the DSM and how to diagnose. It's been a very busy and quite hectic week between working and starting my last year of my master's but however somehow I still found time to get dressed and let my hair down! Of course as the semester picks up those days will probably be few and far between, but I always make up for it in some way shape or form for those that matter :) ! I am beyond excited to finally get to put all of this text book talk to actually use in the therapy room.I also can't wait to dress extra professional for my sessions and feel set out on starting my career path! This Tuesday we'll also be writing our first set of process notes..so Lord only notes what thats going to look like for us but I have no doubt that my co-therapist/really amazing friend and I will figure it all out...one step at a time!
