First Ph.D Interview..How'd it go?

So today was my very first interview for 1 of 4 of the Ph.D programs that I applied for. Today's interview was with Syracuse University. Upon beginning my travels to the East Coast, this 1 digit weather ordeal had me at a complete loss! Ya girl does not do cold! Especially 1 degree weather cold! lol But I sucked it up and packed my heaviest jacket I owned and did I mention I forgot my scarf?! :( But needless to say I think I weathered this snow storm pretty well without it lol My flight got in early yesterday morning and I arrived at my hotel bright and early and even lucked up and got an upgrade into a suite called "The Treehouse Suite" which was this beautiful loft style suite, that I literally cannot still get over! <3 I've been over here sleeping like a QUEEN!

I woke up crazy early this morning and arrived 30 mins early praying that

upon my walk up from the shuttle to the door that I didnt bust my face in my heels on all this slushy snow! lol Got there and met a few of the candidates as well as admissions committee and proceeded with the agenda below. I'd say I was nervous but that was quite the understatement! The most nerve racking part had to have been the research presentation portion of the day which I literally freaked because I thought that although I read the email forwards and backwards, I thought that we had to have handy and entire research powerpoint but after checking in with one of the other candidates, I was put to ease when they clarified and stated you just needed to speak about your research interests! Of the 5 hr day my 20 min interview overall I'd say I felt I did pretty well. I also really enjoyed hearing from the current doc students about what their experience has been like within the program and learning about some of the faculty members!

Until next time.....enjoy some pics and stayed tuned for more updates!
